Your Vision Board.
Before we ever look at a number, we start with your life — getting clear on what you actually want, not what you think you should want.
This exercise is about the next 5–10 years — not someday, and not what you think you're supposed to want.
Don't overthink it. The images you're drawn to will tell us more than any spreadsheet can.
Find 30 quiet minutes in a space where you feel relaxed. Put your phone down (except to use Canva). This works best when you're not rushed.
Go to canva.com — it's free. Create an account if you don't have one. Start a new design and choose Presentation or Mood Board as your format. Either works.
Use the prompts below to guide your search. Look for images that pull at you — don't analyze why, just notice the pull. Canva has a built-in image library, or you can upload your own photos.
Once your images are placed, add words, phrases, and a title that capture what the board means to you. The title especially can reveal a lot — don't skip it. This helps anchor the images when we look at them together.
Download your board as a PDF or image, or copy the Canva share link, and send it to your advisor at least a few days before your first session. This gives them time to prepare — and makes that first conversation significantly more meaningful for you.
Imagine your life 5–10 years from now. Let these areas guide you — you don't need to cover all of them. Go where the energy is.
What does a great ordinary day look like? Where are you, and how do you feel?
What does feeling strong and well look like for you?
Who are the people around you? What do those connections feel like?
Where do you live? What does your environment feel like?
What are you doing with your time? What does meaningful work look like?
Where have you been? What experiences have you had?
What does financial peace actually feel like? What does it let you do?
What grounds you? What connects you to something larger — faith, community, service, or a sense of why?
Once you're done, download your board and set it as the wallpaper on your phone or computer. The more you see it, the more it works — your brain is remarkably good at moving toward what you keep in front of it.
If you get stuck, ask yourself: what would I put on this board if no one else was going to see it? Start there.
